COMPUTER PROFICIENCY AND UTILISATION OF ELECTRONIC INFORMATION RESOURCES.
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of computer proficiency on utilisation
of electronic information resources among law lecturers in University Libraries in South-South,
Nigeria. The study adopted the survey research design. Census procedure was used to study 305
lecturers from eight universities across South-South Nigeria in the 2015/2016 academic session.
A self-developed questionnaire was used for the lecturers and ninety percent response rate was
obtained. One research question and one hypothesis were answered and data was analysed
using one way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The result showed that computer proficiency
significantly influenced utilisation of electronic information resources among law lecturers in
University Libraries in South-South, Nigeria. It was recommended that law lecturers themselves
should make efforts to undertake lessons that will equip them with digital literacy competencies
in order to exploit electronic information resources provided by the University Library.
